Eh. Unless someone forces me to listen, I'm not gonna bother. I appreciate your effort. And I'm sure I'll be watching a 9.11 memorial service next year when the Grammys are on.

I don't even want to listen to it. Everyone has gone on and on about how it's this 9.11 thing so much, that I've become turned off by it. I don't want an album dedicated to that.

Keith (of the second comment, not the first...), you'll be missing out on a great album if you avoid it. Yes, everyone has gone on and on about the 9/11 angle to the album, but only in interviews and promo materials is mention made of how the album was inspired by 9/11. The album is NOT dedicated to it and (as I recall) doesn't even mention it in the liner notes.

As a matter of fact, the lyrics are very subtle and never directly address the 9/11 tragedies. And several songs on the disc are not 9/11 related at all. The album is far from a maudlin dirge.

If 9/11 hadn't happened and Bruce put out this album, it would still be an awesome album and everyone would just wonder if he'd been going through a divorce or if a good friend or family member had died or some such thing.

I couldn't agree more Ron. My first listen was a bit ho-hum (I don't think this album will receive massive immediate airplay because it's not "pop" enough), but every time I hear it, I like it more. This work will stand the test of time. After being a Bruce fanatic for years, then being ambivalent about his work since the 80's, this shows that an old rocker can still create really new art and have something to say.
